Group S Policy Summary: Minors, Hosts, Rewards & Payments
Last Updated: Pending Final Release
At Group S, safety, transparency, and fairness are our top priorities — especially when events involve minors, international participants, or paid hosting opportunities. The summary below explains how we handle participation, payouts, and privacy across the entire platform.
1. Minor Participation (Ages 13–17)
Group S welcomes young drivers, but participation requires parent/guardian permission.
For minors (under 18):
-
A parent/guardian must approve account participation.
-
A parent/guardian must approve use of Discord or live-streamed events.
-
Minors may race normally but cannot receive payments directly.
-
Any prize or hosting payment must be sent to a parent or legal guardian who manages the funds.
-
Parents are responsible for any tax obligations related to monetary rewards.
Children under 13 are not permitted to create accounts or participate in Group S.
2. How Rewards & Prizes Work
Rewards vary by event and may include:
-
Digital roles, badges, standings points
-
Non-cash rewards (gift cards, merchandise, discount codes)
-
Team or host stipends for running sponsored series (parents required for minors)
Each event or sponsored series will list the exact rewards offered.
3. Payments & Payout Rules
To keep things compliant and safe:
Who can receive payouts?
-
Adults (18+) may receive payouts directly.
-
Minors (under 18) may not receive direct payments — a parent or guardian must act as the responsible payee.
Payment methods:
-
PayPal
-
Wise (for international payees)
-
Other methods may be added in the future
Tax information:
-
U.S. payees may receive a tax form (1099-NEC) if earnings exceed $600/year.
-
International payees are responsible for following their local tax rules.
-
Group S does not withhold taxes or provide tax advice.
4. Hosting Sponsored Series
To host an official Group S sponsored series:
-
Hosts must be 18 or older, OR
-
A minor host must have a parent or guardian co-sign the hosting agreement and be the official payee
-
Hosts must follow Group S community, fairness, safety, and sponsor-related guidelines
-
Teams must designate one adult representative to handle payouts and communication with Group S
This ensures safe operation and consistent quality across all events.
5. Privacy & Safety
Group S follows COPPA, GDPR, and general online safety standards.
We only collect the minimum information necessary, such as:
-
Username
-
Email
-
Date of birth (for age verification)
-
Country
-
Parent/guardian contact details (if required)
Parents may request account or data removal at any time.
We enforce strict community rules to create a positive and safe environment for everyone.
6. Sponsor Protection & Non-Circumvention
Group S manages all partnerships with sponsor brands.
Teams or hosts may not bypass Group S to seek:
-
Direct sponsorship
-
Financial arrangements
-
Special deals
-
Custom events involving sponsor branding
This protects the integrity of our platform and maintains fairness for all teams and drivers.
7. Policy Updates
These policies may be updated to meet legal requirements or to improve the safety and fairness of the platform. Major changes will be communicated to parents, hosts, and teams.
